As seen in the picture of Sand Dollar, my installation is similar to Kestrel's. I installed aluminum tubes over the life
lines and installed a solar panel on each side of the cockpit. With this arrangement at least one (if not both), of the panels is always in full sunshine. With my ketch
rig, I support the panels with a nylon string to the mizzen mast's shroud which allows the panels to be tilted. We went with narrow panels since they work best under healing conditons.
