hurricane storage in tropics

Hi, I'm leaving my boat in Trinidad for hurricane season, this is a first for me, I've stored boats in temperate places like Seattle, but wondering what I needed to do differently or extra in the tropics.

I'm assuming it's best to remove everything reasonable from on deck and put it below, including all canvas and sails. I hear that you can have a dehumidifier or a/c,, I'm wondering which would be better.

Also, how do you keep out rats and other wildlife?

The boat is a catamaran if that makes any difference.

All advice appreciated!
