Leaking Toe Rail
There are a number of possible sources of leaks in the area of the toerail. Water can get in under the toerail itself and then bleed down through the fastenings for the rail itself. This is also the area of the hull deck joint and water can get in through the hull deck joint of its fastenings. Lastly there are bolts for sail tracks and other hardware in this area. It is also the low point of the underside of the cabin and so water can migrate there from other parts of the boat.
The big cure is to remove and rebed the toe rail which is a big job but which should last another 34 years. Plan ''b'' is to rake out the joint and caulk with Boatlife from the exterior which, assuming the leak is from the toe rail, should last a couple years depending in the quality of the job and the climate.
