First Boats

Yes, somatics, that does help. The only reason I contemplate a refit of an older boat in need vs. a somewhat newer boat in good condition (I''m considering an early 80''s Cabo Rico 38 as a liveaboard) is my experiences with other fields. When I wanted a computer, I didn''t go and buy a gateway or dell, but rather bought the components, read some helpful advice and built it myself. I knew very little about computers when I started, but now I can hold an intelligent conversation with anyone in the industry (including a brother who is a computer programmer). Also, I have exactly what I want and can fix it if it breaks. These are the reasons i consider a refit (not scratch built), but I have been unable to get any useful information on cost/time/nightmare of doing it, which makes me hesitant until I do.
I think that your surgeon friend had the right idea. Now, where did i put those med school applications.....
