That makes sense but I can't find anything definitive about that.
Apparently their is still the issue that the marine radio is dummed down enough that as a ham you may not be able to do what you want.

The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.
