OK, I am going to assume by your user name that you live somewhere in the Midwest. What I don't know is whether you have your own boat that you want to learn on or if you want to learn for charter or with the intent to buy a boat.

So, making the assumption that you don't have a boat that you need the instructor to come to, what you need is a charter with a teaching captain somewhere ...wherever? That should be easy to arrange for. If you want to stay in the midwest then google ASA schools that also have charter fleets. Or, if you don't care where that broadens your options.

I would recommend Bay Breeze Yacht Charters, which is an ASA school with some very good captains, in Traverse City, Mi. Go to to get an idea of what they offer. Call them and they should be able to put something together for you. They can put you on anything from 30' to 40' plus or a catamaran.

If my assumptions are incorrect....OH well!
