Re: Going to look at a Watkins 27.....

Great ttime out the last two weekends . Last Saturday. was near perfect for an inaugural sail. Winds up to 10 sustained and near flat water. Made it over 5KT a lot and broke 5.5 kt for a bit;a new high for me and the.boat. Had to figure a new dock approach with W winds. Ended up just skid-steering it straight in the fairway, past the opposing piling and hard-about to slide right up to the floater.
Spent Sun. finishing the sewing on the new/old sailcloth cockpit gear bags. One 3x12x10 for each side lower of the companionway and one 6x6x18 for the aft coaming and the mainsheet. Even managed to make major repairs to the beat-up sail cover. It ain;;t real pretty; but should be functional.
Plans are tosailtheSummer through and put up for the winter again. Once '15 arrives, I'll make more firm plans to abscond South.
