making & installing an asymetrical sprit

I have been working on one for my O''Day 30.
at present I have installed a fitting ahead of my head stay to tack in front of headstay. At present there doesn''t seem to be much info around on the subject. I have found that on the new Dehler 36 they have a removable carbon fiber pole which is slide through a ring attached to the bow stem and then attached to a spin pole type chock on the deck. a friend of mine has one and I plan to check it out further this even after our thurs night racing. I have found some info on the mini-transat site. these are very extreme poles but some modifications to these systems I think might work. this weekend I plan to run some comparisions with and without sprit as to speed differances. I''ll let you know what I''ve found.
