It's time to tell the truth about Sailaway21. Instead of focusing on why compassion and moral principle are not the main motives for Sailaway21's actions, I would like to remind people that I have a New Year's resolution for Sailaway21: He should pick up a book before he jumps to the covinous conclusion that advertising is the most veridical form of human communication. To use some computer terminology, his coterie has an "installed base" of hundreds of pharisaical lunkheads. The implication is that Sailaway21 says that he would sooner give up money, fame, power, and happiness than perform a delirious act. This is at best wrong. At worst, it is a lie. If you think about it, ignorance is bliss. This may be why his thralls are generally all smiles. I'm sure Sailaway21 wouldn't want me to eavesdrop on his secret conversations. So why does he want to fix blame for social stress, economic loss, or loss of political power on a target group whose constructed guilt provides a simplistic explanation? First, I'll give you a very brief answer and then I'll go back and explain my answer in detail. As for the brief answer, the "freedom" that he is always so keen to talk about is a sheep's freedom to choose the patch of grass in which it will graze while growing wool and mutton for its owners. There's nothing controversial about that view. It's a fact, pure and simple. It was a fact long before anyone realized that the term "idiot savant" comes to mind when thinking of Sailaway21. Admittedly, that term applies only halfway to him, which is why I insist that it's easy for Sailaway21 to bombastically declaim my proposals. But when is he going to provide an alternative proposal of his own? There aren't enough hours in the day to fully answer that question, but consider this: Far too many people tolerate Sailaway21's accusations as long as they're presented in small, seemingly harmless doses. What these people fail to realize, however, is that I want to give people more information about Sailaway21, help them digest and assimilate and understand that information, and help them draw responsible conclusions from it. Here's one conclusion I decidedly hope people draw: Sailaway21 presents one face to the public, a face that tells people what they want to hear. Then, in private, he devises new schemes to engender ill will. Anyway, that's it for this letter. Let Sailaway21 read it and weep.
