Re: Going to look at a Watkins 27.....

Been busy the past month. Mostly sailing
Picked up a like-new F (damm'd broken key) Echs mainand a buncha other mismatched jibs and mains. Had a board-buddy from another venue gift a pile of sailing gear.
Since all on-board systems are ship-shape, I've moved on to kicking around interior additions. Gotta have *something* to do between bouts of sail time!

W/E of 6-14 was full of firsts. First overnight from dock. First longish trip; eight miles one way ! First "bridging"; in high. winds and floodcurrents. M. an! is*that* scary, even with ten feet to spare. . First docking at a strange port; let alone an end-of-T bulkhead/cage slip . Quite sucsessfully,if I do say. Departure was perfect as well. First time rowing the dink out for it's intended use, other than exercise; and back, while a few sheets let out to the wind AND staying dry ! :First meet-up with the several hearty souls at the "First Annual. Sail Net North Chessie Rendezvous and International Soiree". First trip through. the thin water at the head of The Flats, maintaining nav while motoringinto up-to 25 kt headwinds.

Other than the dunderhead PBs that near ran us down a few weeks ago and almost dumped First Mate out ta the boat....

Life (and sailing!) is good
