Great for the Great Lakes
The Mac is what it is ... a hybrid, a power boat that can sail, a sailboat that can get you someplace in a hurry. It just doesn't do either exceptionally well. Performance is offset by sound construction, great interior space, easy launch & recovery and a low price point that let us get into sailing without a huge cash outlay. It's got the Admiral hooked on sailing (but she wants a bigger boat that is less tender
I have a 26M and have sailed the entire season on Lake Michigan. Know the boat, know your limits and sail within them. From mast-up storage to water is under 20 miutes. Over the road, we can step the mast, rig for sail and launch in about 45 minutes.
