trip up the east coast to maine

Lots of questions Johnny. How many crew on board? Do you wish, and are you able, to travel off-shore? I''ve gone from Florida to the Norfolk off-shore. Also have done the intra-coastal. Bought my boat in Tampa. Crossed Fla via Lake Okechobee canal. Went off-shore on east side; six days to Norfolk. Had an easy trip in June....but we stayed in the Gulf Stream and got quite a boost. BUT, if the wind comes out of the North, seas get very rough in a hurry! Figure 3-4 week trip up the intra-coastal. I''ve done it in 13 days, but is really pushing it.
Were I you, I''d cross Okechobee, go north on Intra coastal to Norfolk. Up Chesapeake bay to Baltimore...c&d canal into Deleware bay. Go offshore at Cape May Deleware and 36 hour passage to Block Island NY. Thru Cape Cod canal and then day trip up to Maine. I''d want radar in Maine. (My boat is a Pacific Seacraft Crealock 34.)
