I'll take a pass on the superstition aspect; and I don't want to hijack the thread, but I have a related question.
What are the implications/complications of re-naming a vessel that has previously been documented. I am correct in understanding that part of the documentation is the vessels name, correct? Is it a hassle to change the name at the time of documentation to a new owner? Am I completely misunderstanding the process?
As to the re-naming superstition, as well as the "Friday Issue", I'm skeptical but very very cautious.............. had problems with my first fishing boat launched on a Friday; but that's another story for another place and time..........
