Other than a reasonable objection already noted about sta-set for sheets these were probably the cheapest lines you could have bought. Sta-set is basically the entry point for line. There are some specialty lines that can be cheaper, but not unless you are willing to learn how to do taper splices, and dyneema end for end splicing. Doable certainly, but not something that is really all that common outside of high end racing boats, and the cost savings are pretty minimal.
And while I don't like it, sta-set is a pretty common choice for sheets as well.
