Liveabord in So. California (permits etc)
I had been trying to keep up with what was happening in CA in the liveaboard arena for a while. I''ve read that alot of marina''s just don''t want liveaboards. Kind of sad. I''ve been away for almost 5 years and will transfer back to a job in Riverside in May or June 03.
Of course are plans are to get a boat and make the weekly trek to the coast for now. I may get a position near long beach or the bay area in 3 years and if so..............we are moving onboard.
When we started to do this about ten years ago we ran into a lot of problems because we had kids at home. Odd, I thought, and so did the California Fair Housing Authority.
I think there''s a National Liveaboard Group being started that may help in boosting the bad image some liveaboards have given (and I do mean just a few). Everyone we''ve met has been great, kept a clean boar and was very respectful of their neighbors.
I''d be interested in hearing anything you find out as we may be in the same situation shortly.
