TJC-
I find it very interesting that you attack me instead of posting anything close to an answer to the basic questions I posed above. Yes, I'd probably be very surprised if you designed anything at all. You sound like most of the blowhards I have dealt with across many different professions.
Most of my posts are far from negative comments, and based on my experience in the real world. As for love, I have a far better idea of what it is and what it takes than you ever will hope of having.
You don't know me... and I seriously doubt that any sailor worth his salt is willing to put up with a petty Captian Ahab like you, given that you don't pay for the flights to or from the boat, for food for the voyage, or the crew. I'd imagine that's a good part of the reason you've gotten crew that you find doesn't match up to your expectations.
You can't get good crew without offering them something in return. In the case of some I've sailed with, it was friendship and good company, as well as a shared adventure. You offer neither friendship or good company from what I can see. BTW, I just helped a friend do a delivery of a new-to-her boat she inherited. She's not wealthy, but she offered to pay for me to fly down and for me to fly back... since I was helping her bring her boat back for her.
I'd say you're simple all right... very simple-minded.

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
