What you have looks good. A couple of thoughts. You probably need leather gloves to deal with putting your hands through the broken (glass or metal) port or you may get cut up. Also, as it is described, you'd be holding and trying to pull the frame into place against the wind and/or waves with your finger tips. Some large "D" shaped handles (like on a drawer) attached to the clamping pieces might make it a lot easier to hold on to the whole thing and then twist the clamping pieces to their intended positions.
