SW Florida Boat Choices/Advice
I also use www.phrfne.org for PHRF
[and...years ago I had a Catalina 30...fine boat for what I wanted and could afford then..but it was dead slow...a PHRF of 180...I swore to myself I would never have another boat that slow :O)]
I think motion comfort is also an important consideration but as Jeff has mentioned many of the algorhythms online are not completely accurate. I did find them useful though but only in a vague general sense when comparing two otherwise similar boats.
One comment I do believe is accurate is one I found on Bill Deitrich''s (sp?) website. Steve Dashow is credited with stating, "Invest in waterline". LWL, in the gross terms can relate to speed and pitch stability...when comparing two otherwise similar boats.
Just my $0.02.
My best to all.
ps Jeff....we might be close to being neighbors...I am looking at properties in the annap area.
