Ragnar-

I see this as a separate issue from my political beliefs and you make and excellent philosophical argument. However, after reading numerous posts on this thread, it does seem to me that one's opinion on this topic follows their political leanings. That is my point.

To that end, I am still waiting to hear from anyone on this forum who considers themselves a political conservative and yet believes that GW is real, that man is contributing, and that we should do something about it. If there is a sudden rush of people who say they are conservative and yet share this opinion, then I will change my mind. I would love for others to show me I am wrong on this, as this doesn't seem like this issue should break down by party line, but I think it largely does.

As to whether or not GW is a fact, or at least supported by science, I would rather not rehash all of that. I have expressed my opinion numerous times, as have others. I don't see anyone changing their minds. I have done a lot of reading on the subject, both on sites that believe the science, as well as "skeptic" sites to reach my conclusion. I am not a scientist nor a climatologist, so what I believe is simply my opinion.

I never was much for philosophy, although I understand and appreciate your argument. I also think it should be as you say, but I just don't see much evidence of that, at least on this forum.
