As said before, be careful with the speaker placement!! I purchased a boat with speakers installed (Hanging in cabin 4-5 feet from compass)the compass was accurate on North and South headings but on East and West headings it was garbage. When I layed the boat up for winter, I noticed the compass was way out. I searched for any magnetic interference in the area of the bulkhead. Finally traced it to the speaker. Now the compass appears dead accurate. Don''t know how the previous owner put up with the deviation being he placed the speaker there!
