it's part and parcel of the canadian liveaboard scene; only strange people do it. the guy beating on the poo hose was kind of living with this woman three boats down - a modified houseboat/tug/something or other. he had a 20 foot sloop as well and I often saw him sleeping in it. something happened and he was kicked out of the marina while we were away; maybe they had a big fight or something. so at ten at night i find him on the dock, in the dark, whacking away at this hose, which i assume came from her boat (he still hangs around). these folks really are living on the cheap, so i can see them recycling poo hose.

but after pulling out the old lectrasan unit and installing a holding tank, i would rather drill a big hole in the bottom of the boat than replace poo hose every year.
