rybus...even a modestly good condition OLD Tartan27 would SELL for 5-8K more than that so the question becomes...what is REALLY wrong with that boat and will it cost you more than the boat is worth to fix it. If you have not had the boat surveyed professionally then you may be in for some surprises. On the other hand...on a lake for 1K...you'd be hard to get anything cheaper and you might just be fine for a few years while you learn. Just resist the temptation to dump in a lot of money.
