A) I would buy a DS 1 myself, if one were for sale
B) Sometimes the face of the instrument looks like it's been run through a cement mixer, with all the black background falling away and leaving thething a mess to look at. But, guess what?? If you remove the instrument itself from it's case, you find that the white markings were silk screened on the inside of the glass and may be intact, and the black background can be replaced with flat vinyl. Some very careful work with a new X-Acto blade will restore the window for the display.
