Multihulls have their own issues. In my last boat search I considered a multi for all the good reasons above. I found it interesting that for the same age multi-s were in general in much worse condition in terms of structural integrity than monohulls. I can only attribute this to lighter construction coupled with higher loads, especially those that act on the bridgedeck joint (essentially torquing it) etc.
That is not to say a new multihull isn't a fun thing to sail, but they don't age very gracefully.
