I'm not a fan at all of "tack straps" like the ATN Tacker (
http://www.atninc.com/tacker.html ). With a properly rigged tack
line you can get a lot of sail rotation to windward by gently easing the tack
line, increasing projected area for broad reaches and runs. The Tacker and its ilk prevent the desired rotation.
