Most, if not all, communities along RI's coast, especially on Narragansett Bay, have very long waiting lists - Newport for instance is well over 10 years.
We have always had a marina slip, but wanted a mooring for doing overnighting in Potter Cove, on Prudence Island. We're Portsmouth residents, so have a 1:5 advantage over non-residents - (5 residents have priority to 1 non-resident). Our application was filed with the Portsmouth Harbormaster in 1999 - still waiting for the certificate.
