My turn

Okay guys, ya'll have seen this picture before - so while Travellers are being discussed let me get some input.
The stock traveller on my gem is from schaffer, it has push pins. I sent it back for a mod that converts it to bearings and blocks with a continuous line - a 200 buck upgrade.
I'm thinking of raising it up out of the way - I don't like the way the mainsheet 4:1 and traveller preclude anyone from sitting on the aft seat while trimming.
I want to raise it by beefing up the backing and poles of the hard bimini and extending the poles up where they currently bend towards the bow. I'd put the traveller at about the same level as the end of the bimini roof is now.
That provides head room, and would be about 18-24 inches below the boom when the main is raised, topping lift is eased and going upwind.
The question isn't so much about will it work - is that enough distance boom to traveller to get good leverage - and meanwhile not snarl my 4:1 mainsheet?
First pic, standard PCI pic, second is of a bunch of gem's at a raft up, shows top of mainsheet, boom end etc..
