For those of you that are aware, Maptech's Chart Navigator Pro is actually an OEM'd version of Rose Point's Coastal Explorer 2.0 bundled with lots of CD's of charts and Maptech pictures. Recently, Rose Point announced version 2.0 of their software, adding all sorts of interesting features (including online AND offline synchronization of your position, boat log, navigation comments, etc. with an online Wiki style website). Maptech has yet to announce their plans, but I thought I'd post a few pieces of info for those who care... I use Chart Nav Pro and absolutely love it. I did a lot of research comparing it to various other pay-for software and found, for me, it was one of the better pieces of software out there.

And specifically on their online capabilities -

Cool stuff... I only wish there was an NMEA2000 compatible radar unit, but apparently NMEA2000 can't carry enough data quick enough for radar output, so if you want anything past MARPA you have to get a dedicated radar unit for thei software.
