I try to stay away from this whole debate, normally, because I don't even agree with it's premise which is that global warming would be a bad thing if it exists. On the contrary, we are in a warm spot between what are probably two very long glaciations, and a little warming could go a long way towards keeping us out of the next one, hopefully. The last one lasted approximately 100,000 years and has only been over about 15,000 years. It isn't a coincidence that human civilization only took off in the past few thousand years, and it's not much of a stretch of the imagination to think human civilization might effectively end when the next glaciation starts.
