Ah, here we go now:
Eskimo village sues over global warming - CNN.com
Appears a Eskimo village on a barrier island is in danger of falling into the sea because of erosion caused by lack of sea ice.
So they sued a bunch of oil companies and electricity providers for causing global warming.
Note the article says the
"Damage to Kivalina from global warming has been documented in official government reports by the Army Corps of Engineers and the General Accounting Office, Pawa said."
Pawa is the attorney for the village.
I did some looking, found the reports which are actually only the estimates from the army corps of eng's for moving the village, it has been trying to protect and relocate the village for quite some time - and at no point does anything say the errosion is caused by GW, it is natural island 'flipping' that occurs to barrier islands - learned about it on Asseateque Island last month while visiting.
It's a Barrier island, it's supposed to errode, it's what they do!
