Documenting Experience for Licensing

This is always the #1 question.
Set down and add up all of the days you have sailed on your boat since you have owned it. They will not question any reasonable time.You will not need to produce a log. Prepare a letter indicating the name,reg number and size of the vessel(length and tonnage), number of days in coastal and/or nearcoastal waters, their geographical location, distance offshore. You will need to prove ownership of the vessel.
If you set this up as a form letter with blanks for the pertinent info you can sent it to anyone for whom you have crewed. Have them sign it. After you get the letters back add the total times on a summary sheet.
Submit all of this to document your time.
