I prefer helley hansen and it has served me well...

make sure your foulies will handle harnesses and sweaters to be most comfortable. SHould breathe. I have bought some gear lightly used and even the Gill and Musto have last years model frequently on sale.

Other may have an opinion on boots/shoes, I have just docksiders...a dry pair and a "wet" pair.
