Pearson Mast Step

I have done the exact same project on my Pearson 323. I used the existing metal mast step but build a new 3 inch solid fiberglass block using fiberglass roving and matte in a mold that I made to make up the 3 inches I cut off the end of the mast. I than fiberglassed the new block into the bilge. I used new silicone bronze lag bolts 3 inches longer than the originals and bolted the metal step into the new block. It looks like it was made that way when the boat was new. And no more mast setting in the water.

Good Luck
