I am looking for an upgraded
gps with map to integrate with a autohelm 1000 tiller
autopilot. The
Garmin GPS III is portable and can be used in the cockpit, but lacks the charting capability of the entry level Standard Horizon 150
chartplotter. I am thinking I should get the GPS III now and wait until I upgrade to a bigger boat and get a quality
chartplotter, and use the GPS III as a backup. Any ideas ?
