Diesel Exhaust

Ran my 14 universal for the first time this season. During the 1 hr ride I noticed black smoke coming out of the exhaust. It didn''t seem to come out during the run but only after it idled down.

Now at my slip there seems to be very minor smoke (white or bluish, hard to tell) but only after I rev it up a little in neutral.

Is this common for diesel engines or could it be dirty fuel over the winter.
Could it be caused by the additives I put in prior to winter lay up.

Engine runs great.
