Living aboard? Where to start?
Check out www.mahina.com They have a section on cruising sailboats with a lot of good info and at the bottom is a list of boats that can do the job. The author started out in a Vega 27 and is now many years later sailing a Halberg Rossi 46. What I do is look at that list and then look at those boats on Yachtworld.com to see how they are laid out, and that way I can narrow down my list of possible boats until hopefully I can find a good boat for me in my price range.
Another good book is "Twenty Small Sailboats That Can Take You Anywhere" by John Vigor. It lists some good and bad features of each of the boats and a little about them by people who own and use them. The boats in this book run from 20 to 32 feet.
