No, I am not going to let the
dinghy drive the decision, but it is an important factor. The boat I am considering has a roller
furler staysail. I can always remove the roller
furler, stow the inner stay and sail the boat as a sloop. But having owned an Island Packet, I like the roller
furling staysail for its heavy weather utility and would prefer to be able to stow my 9' Carribe and use the staysail.
