He couldn't find the perfect boat and decided to have his current and beloved Giulietta custom built. One of the most important design elements he wanted was a sugar scoop transom. He of course, wouldn't admit this was a priority, but for all the reasons discussed in this current thread, he knew it had to be incorporated.

Problem was, ever since the sea trials of his new boat, sailboats with larger and deeper sugar scoops were constantly passing him by, eventually driving him to acquire a serious case of scoop-envy. This drove him crazy and could not understand the reason these boats were so much faster than his. So, several months ago, with all these vivid images of endless sugar scoop transoms still in his mind's eye, he went back to the drawing board to research and explore various ways to improve his boat.

The inspiration finally came to him when studying the source of this popular sailboat feature. Logic directed his search to the purest form of sugar scoop he could find, the real deal found right in his own kitchen cabinets.

Giu has been over here in the States for the past few days, and is due back in Portugal very shortly. Yesterday's thread discussing the merits of sugar scoops, inspired him to send me a PM last night, revealing his secret plans for a new boat. He was so excited to hear of the forum's general acceptance of this feature in that thread, he just had to tell someone. He told me that a few months ago, the team commissioned to create Giulietta, has been hard at work constructing a new boat based upon his latest, inspirational design ideas.

I agreed to his request to not reveal his secret plan, but keeping silent with this thing has been killing me.

So, there you have it. The secret has been exposed to all the world. Sorry Giu for spoiling your surprise, but I just had to do it. I know how proud you are of this new boat . . . and rightfully so. I will even share the photo you emailed me, taken during the first sea trial conducted off the coast of Portugal last week.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Giulietta II:

After all that time and thought that TB- put in???? You have to admire the work, really.
