Sandpiper or Siren?

I have sailed many years ago, and off and on over the years. What I want is to be able to sail single handed off a trailer on Lake Huron. I'm not interested in performance, ease of rigging and sailing are more important. I would like to cruise at some point through protected areas (minimal comfort is OK).

I don't have a lot to spend and I have been looking at both the Sandpiper and the Siren both of which I have found in my price range. How do they compare?

Thanks for the help.

I had a Siren, I really can't think of a better boat to sail singlehanded off a trailer, and still stay dry. It is very simple to rig and sail with one person, all I would do was attach the jib halyard, raise the mast, grab the jib halyard, cleat it, then attach the forestay. I only singlehanded it once, and it was my first time ever sailing alone, I made it back in one piece :) It could be used to cruise singlehanded in a pinch I guess, maybe a Sandpiper would be better for that, but I have never been near one.
