So.. here's the deal...

"Jam" or and "Jelly" aren't the same thing.

Jelly is "the cheap stuff" and while is is made using real fruit, but there are no chunks of fruit in it. This is not, as discussed earlier, gelatin, or Jello, which has nothing to do with fruit, but more likely horse hooves.

"Jam" is more like marmalade, where there are actual, small chunks of fruits in it.

Jelly is translucent, while Jam is more opaque.

Back to the original question, personally, I like strawberry jam on my PB & J sandwiches.

If only jelly is available, then I prefer grape.

I believe these preferences are common among Americans.

I an attempt to promote international understanding, I will also note that sometime the term "preserves" is used in lieu of "jam".

Additionally, I would also like to mention that Peanut Butter and Honey is good too.
