Just got my Cal 2-29 back in the water after a long winter on the hard, spent sanding, painting, cleaning, waxing. It still amazes me that after 6 months of inactivity the old Farymann kicks over within seconds of ignition! Untied the
lines to make the 3 mile jaunt from dry dock back to my marina when the shift cable broke right at the shift lever. I had no trouble finding a replacement cable at my favorite boat shop but replacing the broken cable has been a headache. The shift cable seems to be attached to the throttle cable, both of which are fastened within the pedestal. Any advice on how to remove and replace the shift cable? Does this require removal of the pedestal?
