Given the paroxysms that the Dem's go through over the execution of the democratic process it's going to be interesting to see how they explain the disenfranchisement of two entire states in their primary process.
On a quiet night you can still hear lonely Dem's whining about Florida in the '00 election and even Ohio in the '04 election although it's difficult to distinguish the latter's noise from a cricket's mating call. But now they just say that MI and FL don't exist as far as nominating their next canidate goes.
Let's not get sidetracked by the idea that they're penalizing the state party's over the matter for going out of turn. These are the people so obsessed with making every vote count that they actually sometimes count dead people's votes in Illinois just in case the coroner was wrong. Some Dem's even vote numerous times, just to make sure one sticks. Now they're going to ignore two whole states, in a close election? Were I a Florida or Michigan Democrat I'd be upset.
A side effect of this is the effect it will have on Detroit's economy. Limo drivers count on the influx of Democrat dollars at election time. They spend countless hours ferrying people to the polls. Some say that some of the people only vote for the limo ride but I don't believe that. I just hope they can make do until the general election as there isn't much traffic from Detroit out to the Piston's games, gas being what it is and all.
