You don't need to have a Chartplotting GPS... any GPS can give you your Long/Lat position, and then you can plot it on a chart.

Non-chart plotting GPS units are really inexpensive nowadays. Just make sure you get one with big digits....

A Garmin GPS 72 would do the job nicely...
