Hello,
My boat, a 1986 O'day 35, has a keel stepped mast. This past winter the mast was unstepped for storage, then stepped in the spring. The yard placed the wedges when the mast was stepped. I tuned the
rigging.
After I tuned the rid, I noticed that the mast boot didn't look right. The most forward wedge seems to be sitting too high. The one next to it is also high, but not as high.
I just got back from a nice sailing weekend. During the trip we had winds up to 25 kts. Over the course of the weekend, three wedges dropped into the boat.
What would cause a wedge to drop out? Is it because the hard put some wedges in the wrong position (smaller wedge on the side and larger wedge forward)? Is it because the
rig wasn't tuned properly?
How do I correct this?
Thanks!
Barry
