Seagypsywoman is on a distinguished road
solo sailing and insurance

I just bought an offshore capble boat (East Orient 32 cutter) and am thinking about insurance as well. So far, I''ve found that Blue Water Insurance (www.bluewaterins.com) will let me sail in daylight hours only, 10 miles or less from shore alone. Otherwise I need crew. I''ve been quoted $825 a year just for east coast of the US and the Bahamas. I can''t imagine what they''d charge for an offshore passage, so I''m tempted to invest that money in safety gear instead. Let me know if you find something else.
