We've become such snobs since moving aboard! Since we can sail any day, we spend the big summer 3-day weekends in our slip, going sailing on Wednesdays and Fridays when the 'ordinary people' are at work and the Bay is empty.
We use an anchor float, which many of the CPBs (Clueless Power Boaters) don't recognize for what it is. Regardless, generally we're not worried if someone comes too close and might clip our rode. We've got 100' of chain on the anchor, so they'll hurt themselves far more expensively than they'll hurt us
