Heeling scared the hell out of me when I first started (at age 48.) I also felt that we were going to hit every boat out there and was terribly afraid of being "waked" by the numerous speedy powerboats. ( I learned on the Barnegat ). With a little time and experience, I grew more confident--I assumed more control of the boat, I assumed responsibility for navigating. I read everything I could. We also got a larger and less "tender" boat which helped too.
Now I am proud of the fact that I overcame my fears! I went from a nervous bookworm to an "adventuress" (kinda.)
And, welcome to Sailnet!
