I actually rarely refer to the boy President but I can appreciate your sensitivity on the matter. A minor point in civics might be in order though. The Congress balanced the budget and produced a surplus as the budget is a congressional manner. Likewise, the Congress spent that budget surplus through massive increases in domestic spending. You'll have noticed that I've made no references to which party was in control of Congress during each of those events. The question you have to ask yourself today is, with a military that is undersized and under-funded, which party and which candidate are likely to address that issue and which party and which candidate are proffering massive new increases in domestic spending? Let's just look at what each candidate advertises his candidacy as touting. Which one do you think is talking fiscal responsibility?
