I think you are under the mistaken impression that somehow drilling for oil is a tradeoff with developing new energy. It doesn't work that way. WE don't concentrate on anything. WE let the marketplace deliver rewards and penalties and it ain't gonna be BP who both drills wells AND finds how to make the all electric car work. At least anymore than Bill Gates will create the next killer app for Linux!
