Actually you (or ann coulter) have it wrong about 2000. What Dems said was that Gore won the electoral vote too since when the Wall St. Journal consortium recounted the FLorida votes, Gore won no matter what criterion for hanging chads they used. That he also won the popular vote is just icing on the cake. Dems know full well how the system works as repubs will find out in November.
The only votes in 2000 that mattered in the end were those of the 5 Supreme Court justices who stopped the Florida recount and crowned Bush the winner. THAT is what pisses off Democrats - that it was judges and not voters who decided the matter.
Many republicans see the same world I do but come to different conclusions. Ann Coulter isnt one of them. She just makes stuff up. You really ought to find a better republican to listen to - They are out there.
